Your digital movie can't be as good as the original
This would violate the rules of mother nature! Just like a photograph, every time you make a copy you loose something.
Your digital movie looks best on a TV
Televisions are designed for motion pictures, most computers are designed for text. If you watch a digitized movie on a laptop next to the old VHS playing through a VHS player onto a TV, the TV probably looks better.
